Human Rights and Democracy is a given in the Federal Constitution. Human Rights in Somalia falls under the Ministry of Women and Human Rights. A Human Rights Task Force was established in Feb of 2013 to strengthen the protection of individual rights. In addition to that, the Federal Government of Somalia in December 2014 organized a public awareness campaign, it passed by a new 54 point national Child Protection Act, and finished legislation on a Human Rights Commission Bill. Somalia stands on the right side of Justice, and has improved greatly as government institutions and legislative reforms have made this a priority on their agenda.
The Federal Republic of Somalia is apart of many international organizations such as the United Nations, African Union, and the Arab League. Other membership include African Development Bank, International Civil Aviation Organization, International Finance Corporation, World Federation of Trade Unions, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Intergovernmental Authority on Development, and World Meteorological Organization.
