Ambassador's Biography

His Excellency Jama Abdullahi Mohamed is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of Turkey and Accredited to Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan & Georgia.

H.E President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo appointed H.E Jama Abdullahi Mohamed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of Turkey in May 2017.

H.E  Ambassador Jama Abdullahi Mohamed, born on 10th October 1967, is an accredited ICT engineer, business developer, and entrepreneur who has initiated a number of successful multi-sector business ventures in Somalia, the Middle East, and East Africa for the last three decades.

He has previously served UN Agencies including UNDP Somalia. He was also Chairman of the executive board Committee of Nugaal University – Lasanod.

Ambassador Jama has spent a large portion of his career on community service, humanitarian work, development of education, and conflict resolution initiatives in the Puntland and Somaliland regions.

Ambassador Jama is a Ph.D. Candidate and an MBA Graduate in Project Management from Open University of Malaysia (OUM).

He is a qualified Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and has completed Advanced VSAT Installation and Maintenance Certification (Level 3S).

He brings with him a wealth of leadership, humanitarian, entrepreneurial experience to strengthen ties between the two nations at a time when the trade Diplomacy between Turkey and Somalia is on a solid rise.

H.E Ambassador Jama Abdullahi Mohamed officially presented his letter of credence to H.E President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex on 16th August 2017.

On 17th February 2020, H.E Ambassador Jama Abdullahi Mohamed became the first non-resident Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Somalia to Turkmenistan, where he presented his credentials to the Chairwoman of the Parliament (Mejlis) of Turkmenistan Hon. Gulshat Mamedova.

On 12th June 2021, H.E Ambassador Jama Abdullahi Mohamed submitted his credentials to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E Ilham Aliyev at the presidential Palace as the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Federal Republic of Somalia to Azerbaijan.

On 3rd September 2021, H.E Ambassador Jama Abdullahi Mohamed further submitted his credentials to the President of Georgia, H.E Salome Zourabichvili as the first non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia.
